10 Things and Tucker

  1. Paris Hilton once said something to the effect that if she is seen at an event she has been paid to be there. I am curious - Has Brittany Spears paid Paris Hilton to be her escort (pantyless or otherwise) to recent events? It just seems so much PR - so contrived - so fee based.
  2. It is hard to decide if Angelina and Brad are more reminicent of Liz and Eddie or Liz and Dick. For those too young to know the story of Liz Taylor - Google it.
  3. I don’t understand comparing politicians to Rock Stars - no leggings, long hair, drugs or groupies. Ok, well Bill may have groupies. Obama deserves them. Harold Ford -more power to him - since he is single.
  4. Tom Cruise seems to have lost some certain something with the media. I’m not sure what. His jump on the couch was over blown (actors seem to be an emotional lot who like attention) and hey Brook Shields seems to have forgiven him for the medication tirade. People should give him a break. Does it really matter if he is going through a mid-life wife change?
  5. Ghost Whisperer is a really bad rip off of Medium.
  6. Top Chef is a really good show (ripped off formula wize) from Project Runway.
  7. Danny Bonaduce (sp) has a reality show Breaking Bonaduce- somehow we all still care about him - in a good way. He did a really honest interview with Joe Scarborough last week. Somehow we all want this guy to do well.
  8. Nancy Pelosi’s fashion sense matters - it’s not sexist. If you are a woman you will understand this. Jackie Kennedy understood, Hillary came late to the idea, but gets it now.
  9. Will somebody tell me just when Liddy Dole became a sock puppet?
  10. Staples produces a generic ink cartridge that is guaranteed. After a week and about 20 pages of printing (text) the damn thing was rejected by my printer for genetic reasons.  We will see how that guarantee really works out. I am not hopeful though Staples is usually a real stand behind their product company. I will be calling them tomorrow. Stay tuned.
  11. MSNBC is THE cable channel for politics. Matthews’s enthusiasm and love of the game is infectious, Olbermann pricks the pinheads with searing accuracy and Joe seems to be bi-political at the moment which is interesting. Tucker, though totally silly and obnoxious while on CNN’s Crossfire, actually makes a good point now and then.
